We have an additional Web2Cit-Server beta instance running at https://w2c-beta.toolforge.org/. This is meant is meant to publicly test new versions of the server until they are ready for deployment to the production instance.

However, there is no simple way to use this beta server instance from the Web2Cit-Gadget, probably the most widely used consumer of the Web2Cit server.

Consider providing the possibility of adding an optional setting to one's common.js file indicating an alternative server instance that the Web2Cit-Gadget should use.

Update the gadget's documentation accordingly.
