We're currently using the officially dead https://github.com/vmware-archive/eventrouter to store kubernetes events in logstash.

The project is abandoned for some time but as the API is stable this is not an immediate issue. Although we should probably look out for alternatives at some point.

It would also be nice to be able to send events directly to kafka instead of going though: write to disk -> imfile -> mmkubernetes -> omkafka
