Use redirect=no on user talk pages?
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Author: drspui

Description:
Recently someone has been going around and changing user talk pages to redirect
to a certain pornographic image, so when the user sees they have new messages,
they are rediected (which is made worse by it being an interwiki redirect). I
suggest as a solution that any link to a user talk page automatically gets
redirect=no appended; this seems like the only way to stop this. Disabling
redirects altogether is a bad idea because it can be useful for a contributor on
many wikis to redirect them all to one.

This is not a duplicate; this deals with a different aspect.

If the problem is the double redirect, then the fix should be the fix for double redirects. Marking as duplicate.

The problem is not the double redirect. The problem is that a user talk page can
be redirected by hostiles.

In that case, marking as WONTFIX.

All wiki pages can be redirected, and when this is abused it can be fixed as with everything else in the system.
