Revert changes of a single edit without removing subsequent changes
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Author: plugwash

Description:
what i'd like is the ability to tell the software to run a diff between two
versions and then use that diff as a patch to remove that edit from the current
version without touching the edits in between.

obviously the patch may fail to apply perfectly so a preview of the changes and
a list of failed hunks would be important but it could still save quite a bit of
hassle in removing vandalism that wen't unnoticed for a while.

Version: unspecified
Severity: enhancement

Hallo!

Marking as depending on
Bug 3576: Patch to implement rev_deleted (deletion of single article
revisions)

Please note that in diff the rightmost revision is rendered in LTR
wikies and the leftmost in RTL wikies.

Sometimes these revisions would not load / render as described in
Bug 4641: Fatal Error in Sanitizer.php

As a consequence rev_delete links should be available at both revisions.

no i'm not talking about removing information from the history i'm talking about
a way to revert vandalism without having to manually merge the edits since

Sorry, I read the summary, then Gangleri's comment, and made a mistake.

This was added a little while ago, in the form of the Undo feature.
