If an empty parameter is passed to an image link as other than the last parameter, this is accepted by the parser under normal circumstances. But if said link occurs inside a table, the double pipe is interpreted as the start of a new table cell, breaking the link. It seems to me that the image link should have priority over the table when parsing.
