While it does work, obviously, it cannot be considered good style to make it so.

Thus I'd rather suggest another message, e.g. MediaWiki:statistics-end,
so as to isolate such additions from everything else.

Standard content of the message should be the empty string.
The message should be used for localisation only,
i.e. handled in the way e.g. MediaWiki:loginend it treated.
