Adding buttons to support many programming languages - suggestion
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Why not add to Wikipedia support for different programming languages?
Now we have all kinds of pages describing algorithms, written in different languages (C, Java, C#, etc.). I can easily understand Java algorithms, but it takes more time for me to understand C algorithms, or pseudocode ones.
Can't you just add buttons at the top of the algorithm paragraph, to show different languages? I'm sure there will be people who would enter an algorithm in different languages.
(I wasn't sure where I should enter my suggestion - if its the wrong place tell me where I should enter it).

I see that this was also brought up on https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Village_pump_%28technical%29&oldid=652758989#A_new_idea_for_the_wiki_software

This sounds like a rather specific feature request that might not be a common problem in MediaWiki installations, plus according to the thread on English Village Pump this could generally already be achieved by using expanding/collapsing boxes on wiki installations.
Hence I am closing this task as declined.
