This data was actually in ganglia already (not the ratio, but the # documents and # deleted documents from which ratio can be derived). But the data in ganglia was incredibly stale.

After further review i don't really think ganglia is the right way to handle this kind of information. Instead I want to look into installing https://github.com/swoop-inc/elasticsearch-statsd-plugin first on the beta cluster, then in production to maintain this data in graphite. This was previously installed onto the beta cluster but does not look to have made it into archiva. It looks to have been removed from the beta cluster sometime in early april.
