I tried both saving the page with an empty content and with the text [[phab:T99902]]. None worked (and in the second case, it also deleted my text!!!).

This is fixed in https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/212244/ , pending review. You can still use the 'Edit description' in the right rail (rather than using the undo link) in the meantime.
