**What are your goals? How will you use this data or analysis?**
The Campaigns product team will be developing a tool that allows organizers to invite editors to events, with the goal of increasing event participant rates and event contribution rates. In particular, we have the following hypothesis: "If we build a way to discover active/upcoming events that is integrated with editor workflows, it will increase the number of participants and, therefore, acceptable quality articles. We will focus on campaigns involving high-impact topics, and we will measure the growth of acceptable quality articles on those topics."
Overall, we want to be able track contributions from campaigns that use the event invitation tool. This will allow us to analyze the impact of the event invitation tool. This way, we can see if the event invitation tool is helping increase the percentage of articles on high-impact topics that reach an an acceptable quality score.
The hypothesis and KR focus on articles that reach an acceptable quality score. While we do want to track contributions for articles that meet the acceptable quality score, we would also like to track contributions as well, so that we can see if there are scenarios such as invited editors making edits during the campaign, but the edits are not substantial enough to reach the acceptable quality score for an article.
Overall, some questions that I have are:
* Are the event invitations helping us move the needle on increasing the percentage of articles on topics for impact? In other words, are people who we are inviting to events actually registering for the events and making contributions? And, if yes, how notable or great is this impact?
* Where are the editors we are inviting to events potentially getting lost or dropping off in the funnel? How many of them/what percentage of them are opening the invites vs. registering for the events vs. making any edits during the events vs. moving the needle by creating/improving articles that reach an acceptable quality score?
* Are certain events more successful at inviting editors (i.e., having a sizable percentage register and create/improve articles of an acceptable quality score) than others? Of the events that are more successful, do we see any similarities that can be determined in the data?
* Are certain editors more likely to be successful invited editors than others? For example, are editors on a certain wiki or that have a certain minimum number of edits more likely to be successful?
To do this, we would be interested in some of the following metrics:
* Edits (broken down by desktop, mobile web, and apps)
** Total edits during the event on gender and specific geography on Wikipedia per the KR details
** Percentage of invited participants who registered for event and who make at least one edit during the campaign event period
** Percentage of edits in campaign that were made by invited participants who registered for the event compared to those that arrived without our invitation
* Articles (broken down by desktop, mobile web, and apps)
** Total articles that are created or improved to reach an acceptable quality score during the event on gender and specific geography on wikipedia per the KR details
** Percentage of invited participants who registered for the event and created or improved at least one article of acceptable quality score during the campaign event period
** Percentage of articles that were created/improved in event that were made by invited participants who registered for the event compared to those who arrived without invitation
* Event output (broken down by desktop, mobile web, and apps)
** Number of acceptable quality articles on specific geo and gender prior and post event, which should be broken down by:
*** Campaign articles vs non campaign articles
