A 2.0 version of `node-rdkafka` has been released and we should aim to update this dependency, however since it's dependent on librdkafka the process is quite involved. The following steps should be made: 0. Test all services with new librdkafka and node-rdkafka versions. 1. Package librdkafka v0.9.5 and put it on apt.wikimedia.org 2. Install newer librdkafka on scb machines and update build scripts to use it. 3. Test and deploy trending-edits service with updated node-rdkafka 4. Test and deploy event-streams service with updated node-rdkafka 5. Test and deploy change-propagation service with updated node-rdkafka I will do steps 2-5, but I'd need help from @faidon on the first step.
