**Steps to replicate the issue** (include links if applicable):
Example:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Map_of_New_York_highlighting_Rockland_County.svg
**What happens?**:
There is a white (transparent?) background and a red area indicating the Rockland County.
**What should have happened instead?**:
There should be a map underneath. See [[ http://web.archive.org/web/20231111025017/https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Map_of_New_York_highlighting_Rockland_County.svg | archived version ]] of the example
**Other information** (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):
There are many more maps with this problem. I guess it may be related to [[T265549]].
**EDIT**:
That file and some others were fixed by @Nux. Still there are probably many more. I don't know if users of Commons know about this issue and how to deal with it, but if they were properly informed, you can close this ticket.
