MediaWiki does a lot of work to try and do this by default, yet it seems the particular combination of factors in CI make it not enable gzip for web responses. This means that behaviour is not very representative. In particular, it means that for Fresnel, the metrics "raw code" and "network transfer" are the same whereas, the latter is meant to be smaller and behave differently.
