Help readers/new editors to understand that every revision is saved, and you won't permanently screw up a page if you make a good-faith mistake. - Was already done with https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:LastModified
Challenges:
* How can we do this with subtle cues, rather than a paragraph of text that they won't read? +1
** Surfacing the most recent revision - a little space where there's a username, timestamp, edit summary, and a link to see more. This takes you to a cleaned-up history page, with the same information & tools, but puts it into a grid so that it's easy for people to scan and figure out what it means.
** Infographics. The way I understood Wikidata was thru https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Glossary#mediaviewer/File:Wikidata_statement.svg <-- Like
** We can also provide an entry point through the paragraph of interest (more like a "blame" process, figuring out who created a given paragraph and edited after it). Examples: http://i.imgur.com/Ok1TUh3.png http://i.imgur.com/jCTRIMN.png
* "Visual diffing" of changes has been a wishlist item for a long time, now made (more) possible by Parsoid DOM…
* Example UI from localwiki: https://localwiki.org/santacruz/Tomboy/_history/2015-01-22%2017:48:55.674166...
* Layout changes (or alternatives) to the standard log feeds (RecentChanges, Watchlist, Contributions, History, etc.)
* possibly useful for a better understanding of histories which work differently as in wikis with FlaggedRevs.
