T132757 had a check box for: " use a reprepro hooks to sync apt across and possibly make apt.wikimedia.org HA (perhaps with gdnsd)" Since all other subtasks of that ticket have been this is to break that out into a separate ticket. The current status is that carbon has been replaced by install1002 and install2002 and we have an automatic sync between them. It's an rsync started by cron every 6h though, not reprepro hooks. Currently apt.wikimedia.org just points to install1002. Sync is always from 1002 to 2002 unless we manually switch it over. In hieradata/common.yaml we have ``` install_server: carbon.wikimedia.org install_server_failover: install1002.wikimedia.org ``` This ticket is for an actual HA setup and the "perhaps with gdnsd"-part which was an optional/stretch part in the original ticket this is from.
