References lists created by a `<references />` tag (those created by e.g. `{{reflist}}` are a different beast) have been able to auto-update when a new citation is added for a long time now. However, this no longer functions correctly on enwiki (where new citations don't appear in the list at all, but have their context menus unaffected) and the beta cluster (where the numbers for new citations appear in the list, but both the list items and the context menus are blank; see image). {F178483} [[https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback&diff=666535944&oldid=666361669|Pointed out by John Broughton at enwiki]].
