Whatever article is featured on the Main Page is more likely to be vandalized on that day. Since featured articles are usually not "protected", it is exceedingly easy to vandalize them. The most pernicious form of this vandalism is to replace the lead image of the article with an inappropriate image, which means that our app will use this image in our loud-and-proud presentation of the featured article in the Explore feed. This has now happened on more than one occasion. It will be better if the app uses the image shown on the Main Page (which is better-protected) in connection to the featured article, instead of the lead image from the article itself.
