The assumption is that some of our changes will allow that users can make better use of the re-use reference dialog in VE and that it's usage will increase. To measure that success we would want to log how often people:
**Events to log:**
- Open the cite dialog
- Open the re-use tab
- Actively use the re-use dialog ( defined by interacting with the search box/scrolling through the list )
- Successfully add a reference re-use using the dialog to the VE document
- Successfully add a //new// reference using the dialog to the VE document
- Switches between VE and WT editing
- Make sure we have an edit session baseline to normalize the above values to
**Also consider:**
- ~~Was the "citation tool" in use, or the plain cite dialog?~~ ( irrelevant here )
- ~~Track edit session ID~~ ( we just want to compare raw numbers )
- VE events are normally sampled heavily.
**Open question:**
- Can we log, if people used C&P to re-use a reference?
