PresentlyAs a first step towards implementing the tags portion of {T159942}, Tag filter names has two representations (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Tags): 'Tag name' and 'Appearance on change lists'. And that 'Appearance on change lists' is not recognized as the tag name when entered into Tag filter text box.
For example, replace the "tag filter" input field with a widget that allows you to look up and select multiple tags.
You should be able to look up tags both by their internal name and their display name (see "Tag name" and "Appearance on change lists" respectively on [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Tags|Special:Tags]]). on Special:RecentChanges pageThis is important because the current input only recognizes the internal names, a user sees many records marked with the tag - 'Visual editor'. But entering 'Visual editor' into Tag filter box won't workbut the interface uses display names everywhere. Only `visualeditor` will work. Some wikis have Tag filter as drop-down menu selection (dewiki)Also, but others do not give users any clues (except providing the 'Tag' link).the internal names for software-defined tags are always in English, Thus, using Tag filters requires some additional knowledge.
For non-Englsih speaking users it might present an additional challenge to remember English-based tag names in cases when the tag appearance was translated but the tag name itself was not.
The screenshots are from ptwiki: which is a problem for non-English-speaking wikis (AbuseFilter-defined tags, however, generally will have an internal name in the local language, which means this isn't even consistent).
