It appears after a link, and it's common to add nowiki if no space was typed between a link the text after it (see T141689), but in this case there is a space after a link.
It's imaginable that the user initially forgot to type a space, which got the `<nowiki/>` added, then the user add a space and the `<nowiki/>` tag was kept, but I couldn't reproduce it.
