The PCS summary endpoint tries to exclude some content from its output that otherwise appears on a page to derive an introduction to an article page:
* IPA in various forms, one of which are IPAs in various forms, sometimes with audio pronunciations (and sometimes a loudspeaker icon and/or "listen" link)
* details about a person's birth and/or death date in parentheses
* references.
This question is mostly about the pronunciation related contentThe summary code already excludes elements with classes `noexcerpt`. (The references case is easily covered by stripping elements with classes `mw-ref` or `reference`.)
The summary code already excludes elements with classes `noexcerpt` or `noprint`, too. TextExtracts recommends using the noexcerpt class , The summary endpoint can easily add more classes. ( TextExtracts removes those elements, too.)too.
How can we get more IPA related templates to use the `noexcerpt` class?
Example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:IPAc-en and of course for many more wikis.
What class should we recommend communities add to their templates so that IPA related content is stripped off from summary extracts?
