Specifically, stuff like {{Image requested}} Rater is currently the best talk page tagging script. An alternative solution could be to add this functionality to Rater. NPP no longer considers tagging the article or the talk page mandatory. So maybe this ticket isn't a great idea. But wanted to get a discussion started.
