Small language tweak in 'Changes to show' menu
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

For both RC page and Watchlist, we are about to make what is actually a pretty fundamental change: from a page that is unitary to a paginated system. In the past, there was one Watchlist. One RC page. The point here is that with pagination, the meaning of "changes to show' alters.

In a paginated Watchlist or RC page, the only logical meaning for "changes to show" is "Changes to show per page." So let's make the interface say this. In testing, users seem to be having trouble grasping the shift. Making the following small language change in the number of changes selection menu (T162786) will help them.

  • Was: Changes to show:
  • Proposed: Changes to show per page

The menu as it is now

Do we also want to work "Number of" into this message?

I'd consider the number part is clear by the context. "Changes to show per page" should be clear enough in my opinion.

Is this ready? Sounds like it depends on the pagination patch first?

I guess you're right. This is blocked by pagination. I'll move it.
