Mediaviewer preloads should be marked as such via x-analytics tag
Open, LowPublic

Description

At this time mediaviewer prealoads images to show to the user, those preloads should be tagged as such via a X-analytics header. Please see: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/X-Analytics

Event Timeline

Assigning to @MarkTraceur for him to reroute. The earlier these changes can be done the earlier we can incorporate them to the apis that return pageview numbers for images, those APIs are now live and being loaded with data as we speak. We know part of the data is not correct as it has a small number of preloads (we estimate about 5% (warning: napkin math!)
