restore Meetbot logs from around 2015-06 lost in NFS outage
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

@TTO noticed the Meetbot log for the T99268: RfC: Create a proper command-line runner for MediaWiki maintenance tasks office hour on IRC, http://tools.wmflabs.org/meetbot/wikimedia-office/2015/wikimedia-office.2015-06-10-21.02.html , is a 404.

those are backed up on NFS, and just those logs might be missing for the 9day period during the nFS outage
file a bug? Coren can we still recover these/ ?

There are probably other missing meetbot logs, http://tools.wmflabs.org/meetbot/wikimedia-office/2015/ indicates a gap:

If we can't restore meetbot's logs, as a workaround wm-bot kept going during meetbot's outage, see its logs...

etc.

Perhaps one of the meetbot maintainers could replay wm-bot's logs to get meetbot to rebuild its logs.

I don't think those files still exist - I'll take a look this week and close as declined / actually recover them as it happens.

In the task description @Spage also suggested that the minutes could be recreated by feeding the IRC logs of wm-bot to meetbot. I'm not sure if this is technically possible (though in theory why not), but if essentially this is about one log for T99268, and the conclusion of that particular meeting was "update the RFC, propose an interface, write to wikitech-l, then maybe we should schedule another meeting", then I personally would consider that recreation nice-to-have, but nothing more.

They're all long gone, unfortunately.
