Description

Special:Version can read .git metadata to display git hashes on the special page and via the API. As of rTEXD4f6d8829cc9e: Make tarballs a ton smaller by not including .git we no longer include the .git directories since they were huge for some repositories, but we should keep the basic git metadata.
