Localise first day of the month in French and other languages
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Author: le.korrigan

Description:
In French and in some other languages (eg. Haitian Creole), the first day of the month is written "1er janvier" instead of "1 janvier". Other days are written as usual ("2 janvier", "3 janvier", etc.). It could be interesting to localise this where dates appear (logs, signatures, special pages, etc.).

I don't know if this is feasible, but maybe an optional suffix could be added to the MessagesXX.php file, which would be added only for the first of each month. In French (fr) this suffix would be "er", in Haitian Creole (ht) it would be "e", and both would need to be between tags.

Cannot use html in dates, those are escaped in many places and I guess those dates are also used in non-html contexts. Closing as CANTFIX.
