While using replace.py a character (or set of character) can be searched and replaced by another character (or a set of character). For example, XXX can be searched in wiki pages and replaced with YYY. In case of a scenario where after searching for XXX if it has to be replaced by YYY in someplaces and ZZZ in other places, there is no option currently. It would be highly helpful if such option is added to the replace.py program.

@yuvipanda: You don't have to know Python, you only have to know regexes, and copy the function. Thanks for quoting! However, there is a possibility to enhance the bot with this feature.
