[10:46:30] <olasd> hey all, I'm looking at your kafka debian packaging, and it seems that the package depends (and build-depends) on libcglib-java, which is not available in jessie

[10:48:34] <Reedy> looks like they've added a number
[10:55:12] <olasd> Reedy: right; usually when the maintainers add a number the new version is not api-compatible, but in that case the package seems to build just fine

Sounds like the packaging needs updating for Debian Jessie

It's a bit strange, the source package has also changed and it appears there's two versions of that source in Debian stretch by now:

Hm, we've given up on maintaining our own Kafka debian package in favor of using Confluent's. Should we decline this ticket?
