Diff. shades/colours to differentiate between code and content
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Author: sean.van.der.smythe

Description:
It's difficult to maintain one's bearing in an article with many inline references and other Wikicode. I would think it useful if, when hitting "edit", the edit box had regular text in black, and the Wikicode, a shade of grey. I'm not sure I care about what shades/colours are used - I simply want to be able to quickly determine where article text ends and Wikicode begins.

When I said "It's difficult to maintain one's bearing in an article", I meant while editing an article.

HTML textarea doesn't support different colors.

Try userscript [[en:WP:WIKED]] (Firefox only) or [[meta:Help:External_editors]] (a bit complicated)
