In &diff=prev view, could "Mark as patrolled" have an surrounding span like
<div id="mw-diff-ntitle4"> <span class="patrollink">[<a href="...">Mark as patrolled</a>]</span></div>
At the moment link cannot be modified in any way, since id mw-diff-ntitle4 is used also for "Newer edit" link.
