"Invalid action" error page links to deleted article version(s)
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

I admit, this URL was mistyped:

http://ksh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Fotmafiire%2C&action=delete?title=Fottmafeere,

It rendered this page:

Die Aufgab (action) kenne mer nit
eije fottjeschmesse Änderung - aanluure oder widder zeröckholle?

Na su jet: De Aufgab us dä URL, die do hinger „action=“ dren steiht, jo die kennt hee dat Wiki jar nit.

Jangk widder noh: „Houpsigk“.

that is, line by line:

  • unknown action (header)
  • 1 deleted version, view or restore? (in small type)
  • invalid action page text (normal text)
  • return to "Main page" (normal text)

indeed, the 1st page title of the URL had just been deleted, this was a mistyped (? instead of &) attempt to initiate deletion of a 2nd page title in the URL.

I believe the "1 deleted version" subheader should not be there, or should it?

You likely need to be a sysop and logged in in order to reproduce the rendered page from above.

Version: 1.13.x
Severity: enhancement

Seems legit enough. The page title's not illegal, so you've got all the standard action links available, including the sysop actions.

Agreed. I still find it a bit bewildering but (1) they are seen in this form only by admins who should be able to cope with them, and (2) it is certainly good to have all the links together, even if I for one did not expect them.
I was going to close this as "WONTFIX" anyways after having thought it over, during the day. I admit, I was reporting too quickly.
