We're adding HDDs to backup4001 and redoing the RAID and partitioning to increase total disk space. At the same time let's rename it to frbackup4001 so it's clearer what its function is, and upgrade it to jessie.

Jeff: What kind of partition scheme do you want to have me setup? With 4 3TB disks, I assume a raid10 of all 4 disks.
In typical production, we would do the following:
- software raid 10 of all 4 3TB SATA disks
- within the raid10 an lvm
- small / partition
- large /srv partition for 80% of the remainder of the lvm/disk.
- no swap
Please advise if you would like similar, or what different partitioning/mount points I should setup. Thanks!
Sounds good. This box only does offsite backups, so we need at most 6-8GB
for the OS partition.
Do the offsite backups go into /srv or elsewhere?
If they go elsewhere, perhaps this should break convention and just have a large / partition, or have that data backup directory on its own partition.
Awesome, thanks!
Is there anything that needs to be done before we shut this down and do the reimage?
Change 345356 had a related patch set uploaded (by Dzahn):
[operations/puppet@production] DHCP: fix host name backup4001 -> frbackup4001
@Jgreen Thanks for your comment on the gerrit change above. I amended again to remove the host from DHCP. So this task is still in progress and not resolved yet?
(yet) the current one is not the one with MAC F0:1F:AF:D8:72:9A; ?
Closing this task since the hardware upgrade failed. AFAIK the old backup4001 is still in the rack but powered down, I will open a new task to decommission it.
