Maniphest statistics show implausible numbers of submitted reports
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

https://wikimedia.biterg.io/app/kibana#/dashboard/Maniphest contains some unexpected numbers, which would be a good learning if they were true. However, it seems they are not.

I've checked the submitters table:

SubmittersIssuesProjectsAssigneesAvg. Open Days
[[mw:User:This, that and the other]]1,304529119392.118
Jon Robson1,09057083472.713
Adam Roses Wight85936335421.15
Amir E. Aharoni81938474423.998
Aaron Halfaker, EpochFail, halfak78823656333.425

According to a maniphest search, the first user has created / authored / submitted 262 tasks / bugs / reports in total, which is less than 1304.

Are you by any chance double counting reports, e.g. once for each project they are attached to?

For future reference, please use table markup for tables in Phab task, and provide a shared URL to make sure we're looking at the same parameters.

I can see the numbers provided above at https://wikimedia.biterg.io:443/goto/20a60efe9a86b7e8bd49ad8440b1ff8d which is set to -2y in the upper right corner.
Your Phab query is not restricted to the last two years.
Hence closing as invalid.

Indeed, and a superset of tasks can't have less tasks. Yet 262 < 1304.

This is a clear bug. I've been digging into it and I've found we have an issue with the [[mw:User:This, that and the other] identity.

Regarding the other numbers, I've checked few of them and they are good.

We will work on it and let you know when fixed.

Thanks!!

Eh... true. Thanks for catching that (and sorry)! :-/

3rd entry jrobson has both in Maniphest and on wikimedia.biterg.io 2143 created tasks, 50th entry Kumioko has 316 issues in both places.

@Nemo_bis: Are there other wrong entries for people, or did you only spot TTO? Because if it's only TTO I assume this is T161241 and could be merged.

(And I don't trust the numbers in the project column but that's worth a separate task...)

@Albertinisg: You're fast. :) I hadn't reloaded the page to see your comment before adding mine...

I only checked TTO so far. Feel free to merge, I can reopen if I find other suspicious numbers.
