Optionally show diff comparison on page preview
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Author: mohamed.m.k

Description:
Right now you cannot see the changes you made in the source of the page (diff view) unless there is a revision of your changes, which, IMHO is just waste of disk space AND time. I know that to generate the diff page, it uses cpu and generating asking to add that load on every preview by _default_ is just not wise. So, I'm proposing to make it an optional feature (tick box or whatever) (not necessarily on the page itself, may be an option in preferences) that makes it possible to generate the diff view when clicking "preview"..what do you think?

/me is feeling like a *big idiot* who didn't even try to find it.. sorry for the trouble and thanks for the pointer.

For the record, this is still unavailable on LQT (bug 28165) and also when trying to edit an old version of a page, since MW compares against the most recent revision (bug 41307)
