I would like to request the addition of a special, bold or highlighted warning message when an article has Unicode characters. I've found that users sometimes edit articles in software without Unicode support, not knowing that their edits might affect the article or links between articles.

Note that *all* characters are Unicode characters, technically. ;)

We have a user-agent blacklist for browsers known to corrupt various characters, with in-browser conversion; this should cover most "bad browser" cases.

As for cut-n-paste to other software -- there's not going to be any real good way to handle that. If the user gets a warning, what are they going to be able to do about it? A prominent warning for all people all the time will be far more annoying than effective, I suspect...
