do not allow a simple RET in the Edit Summary field to submit the whole form
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Please do not allow a simple RET in the Edit Summary field
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Edit_summary
to submit the whole form.

The 1% expert users this saves the trouble of clicking SUBMIT causes accidents for the other 99% of users.
Many even might have many layers of IMEs that use RET in different ways and it would be easy for one RET to slip through an send the whole form sailing in before the user has completed what he was trying to do.

What is "RET"? Do you refer to the Return/Enter key on a keyboard?

Correct.
And especially as unlike editing article text, one cannot fix comments later:

Also as RET is safe in the main textbox, it should also be safe in the summary.
