Flowing Tables
Open, LowestPublicFeature

Hello,

I have only recently started to work on articles on the Wikipedia but have found a major feature lacking from MediaWiki that would make like ALOT easier if it were implemented.

Basically, I would like a feature where I can create a table with several columns but be able to say "break columns every 5 columns" after which it would create a continue of the table (ie another table) on the line below to continue the previous one.

The disadvantage of not doing this is you have to create individual tables and when you want to add a new column, you have to move everything along 1 just to fit it in.

Best Regards,
Craig Brass

Craig: I'm not sure I understand the usecases here - there seem to be two? One of them is adding a new column to an existing table and that new column is not at the end, and the other one is about creating another table with the same layout? In which situtations is that needed? Any examples?

Also wondering if table editing might become easier with VisualEditor, once supported...
