Description: Magnolia Press publishes a number of journals in the fields of biology.
Notes:
I strongly support this. I edit on Wikispecies, and not having access Magnolia Press' journals feels like a massive hole. I am particularly interested in Zootaxa (my scope is limited to Animalia).
I believe a partnership with Magnolia Press would benefit Wikispecies and the biology/taxonomy sides of Wikidata and Wikipedia greatly. Editors such as myself would have access to all sorts of taxonomic papers, including phylogenetic studies, new species descriptions, and more. While many authors are kind enough to place a list of nomenclatural changes in the publicly-available abstract, these lists often lack detail, or may be omitted entirely, for the sake of brevity.
I believe such a partnership would be beneficial to Magnolia Press as well - this would result in more references to Magnolia Press' journals from Wikipedia, Wikispecies, and Wikidata, thereby increasing the visibility of those journals, in addition to increasing visibility of the work published in those journals.
Thanks for your comment @WrenFalcon . We have attempted to establish contact and build a partnership with Magnolia press many times but haven't been successful. Partnerships for The Wikipedia Library usually takes a lot of time, sometimes 1-2 years. We will continue to work on this request but as of now, we do not have any clarity on when this will be available. Thanks!
Just to note that a discussion at WikiProject Plants on the English Wikipedia was hampered by our inability to access Phytotaxa, the foremost journal for plant taxonomy.
