Discover why article "-" (redirects to Hiphen article) is one of the most accessed in ptwiki
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

I recently made a tool to show article with higher number of pageviews in ptwiki, and I discovered the article "-", that redirects to "Hífen" (hiphen in portuguese) is the second more accessed article, if we compare"-" and "Hífen" pageviews we see that hiphen has very few pageviews compared with "-", so that amount of pageviews is not people wanting to know about the hiphen, it seems like a bug in somewhere that make people unintentionally access that article.

The page has few backlinks, and I can't find any particular page or template that can be making that, it can be many things, a bug in a js script, in Mediawiki, in a robot, or in some external site not related to Wikimedia, I don't know how to discover that. That bug can be making people access the article without wanting to, and it also make pageviews researches less accurate. Someone with access to more detailed pageviews data can discover from where those accesses came?

We use - as a placeholder for when we can't or don't want to parse a title from the request, but still consider it a pageview. For example, search pages where we don't want to expose the search terms, special pages, and titles that we can't parse for whatever reason. So it just means "Unknown". Take a look at the docs, and do update if they're not as clear as possible.
