If I do the reflist 1-up it is fine.

If I do it 3-up, the middle column is OK but there are two 8s in the third column

It just shows as a 1 col list for me. And it's fine...

This sounds like a bug in older versions of Firefox. This was reported a few times at the reflist template, but went away with newer versions of Firefox.

Have you tried with your browsers? I cannot reproduce with Firefox, Opera nor Chrome on my PC, nor the native browser on my Android tablet.
