User gvf reported that the OTRS system by Wikimedia Italia is now somehow huge. Currently 22G in filesystem and 700MB database while the current data retention is nearly 10 years.

Probably not possible. Every now and then I look for spam which was incorrectly marked as "closed". Moving it to the junk can help reduce the space used (assuming the attachments etc. are actually deleted).
Now that the migration is concluded we do not need to care about this problem anymore. We are no longer occupying the hard disk of a volunteer.
Well, let's mark this as resolved since the original problem was not to waste volunteer space, not to reduce space.
