For some webP files Commons doesn't detect the file dimensions correctly. This leads to the thumbnails being squeezed when rendered on a page.

List of steps to reproduce (step by step, including full links if applicable):

• Go to https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Symbioses_of_cyanobacteria.webp
• The thumbnail image is rendered in 800 × 76 pixels. Original file dimensions are said to be 2.728 × 259 pixels.
• Open the 800 px thumbnail image (PNG)
• The actual dimensions are 800 x 1277 Pixels
• Open the orignal file
• The actual dimension are 2728 x 4355 Pixels
