List of steps to reproduce (step by step, including full links if applicable):
- Open https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:Christoph-von-Schmid-Denkmal_von_Max_von_Widnmann_(Dinkelsb%C3%BChl)&action=edit with an account that has VisualEditor new wikitext mode enabled
- (also happens anywhere else on Commons as far as I can tell, but not on German Wikipedia)
What happens?:
The page is stuck on “The editor will now load. If you still see this message after a few seconds, please reload the page.”; in the console, an error appears:

What should have happened instead?:
Edit mode should load
Software version (if not a Wikimedia wiki), browser information, screenshots, other information, etc:

Other notes
Only possible duplicate I found is T287619: Wikimedia\Assert\ParameterTypeException: Bad value for parameter $target: must be a MediaWiki\Linker\LinkTarget|MediaWiki\Page\PageReference, but to me that seems unlikely to be the same issue. I’m on vacation, so I can’t look up the exception details in Logstash – someone else please do that :)
