References hidden by the sticky header
Closed, ResolvedPublicBUG REPORT

Description

List of steps to reproduce:

What happens?:

  • in the section References, the footnote of the reference n is hidden by the sticky header, and you have to scroll up to see it
  • instead, you can read the footnote corresponding to the reference n+1, which is quite confusing

What should have happened instead?:

  • the anchor of the reference should consider the height of the sticky header too
  • when you click on the jump link ref of an article, the first readable line of References on the screen should be the line of the correct reference (n)

Software version (if not a Wikimedia wiki), browser information, screenshots, other information, etc:

  • tested with Firefox, Chrome and Opera - Windows 10
  • see user HB's message in French
  • Screenshot after clicking on reference 2

While this is an issue in the prototype this was flagged early in the implementation of the actual sticky header in T290518.

In the actual implementation the sticky header will not show in this situation.
