Commons' {{information}} is far too general for metadata about an illustration from a book. {{artwork}} is also not a good fit, since it lacks the semantics needed for referring to an illustration.

If such a template ever happens, WSIU should use it. This is possibly also related to using SDC (T285369), but that will depend on how much a putative {{illustration}} template pulls from SDC and if a solid-enough illustration data model emerges.
