I think this might be the same bug as T331226, where it's failing on URL encoded index page URLs. For example, when I paste the following it works correctly:

But copying and pasting from a browser URL bar doesn't work, because it pastes it as

Good point. That's because of the question mark in it at ਹੈ?. Anyway, the patch I've made for the other bug appears to fix this one as well. Can you test?
