OpenEdition access has expired (PDF/ePub downloads)
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

Our access to OpenEdition appears to have expired. Although their content is all available for free as HTML pages, PDF/ePub downloads were previously accessible to us, but no longer are.

Event Timeline

I can confirm that I've also encountered this issue, specifically for articles in the OpenEdition freemium for Journals collection.

I had the same problem each time I tried to download the ePub or PDF version of a document, since (at least) last month.

Hello, I'm still unable to download the PDF version of articles (February 2024). Any update?

We've reached out to OpenEdition but haven't made any progress yet unfortunately.

I'm afraid the problem persists. :(

Open Edition offers e-books to read online and to download as PDF or EPUB. But there are some books you cannot access in either way, so if you want to read those you will have to buy them. It makes no difference whether you access those books via our proxy or directly over the website. E.g., https://books.openedition.org/septentrion/12250 cannot be accessed either via https://books-openedition-org.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/septentrion/12250 I think our access has actually ended. So I would be grateful if you please could ask for a renewal, @Samwalton9-WMF . Thank you very much in advance.

Hi @Aschmidt! Thanks for the comment. I am trying to re-establish a contact with OpenEdition for our partnership but we haven't been able to make much progress. We are still working on this.

@sjvipin Thank you for looking into this issue.

I tried accessing https://www-openedition-org.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/pur/112250?lang=en but I keep getting HTTP ERROR 404 No webpage was found for the web address. Pretty strange. I would appreciate if this is resolved.

Same here, also 404. But if I use the Library dashboard there is https://wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/login?auth=production&url=http://www.openedition.org for accessing the partner website which redirects me to https://www-openedition-org.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/ , but our access still has not been renewed, I'm afraid.
