Replace wrong region names
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

I've found that your extension has Incorrectly included Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan in the list of "countries". This is an unforgivable mistake of principle. Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan are NOT COUNTRIES that can be listed with China together.

I request to replace these wrong region names immediately. You can either replace them with "Hong Kong, China", "Macau, China", and "Taiwan, China" respectively, and change the element name from "country" to "country/region". In short, you must declare that these regions are not a country, and belong to China.

Since my wiki website provides service for people in China, I have to make sure that everything on my website obeys the laws of China, and the previous issue is a violation. I request to fix this issue as soon as possible, or I'll have to stop using your extension and make this thing public.

Taiwan, a.k.a the Republic of China, is a legitimate country. I'm not sure if the same can be said about the People's Republic of China.

The People's Republic of China can claim what it wants to, but that does not mean that anyone outside said region would even consider following such silly requests. I sure won't, that's something you can bet on.

SocialProfile and other Social-Tools are free and open source software, licensed under the GNU GPL version 2 or later. Should you feel the need to fork, you're free to do so. They're also plenty customizable out-of-the-box.

Finally,

I'll have to [--] make this thing public

You already did. Phabricator is a public bug, issue and feature request tracking system. I'm not sure what you were trying to achieve there.
