Description

As a developer, I want to know the effort required to setup the OpenTelemetry Collector to start collecting metrics and traces , before implementation so that follow up tickets are created.

Things to consider:

How to setup OpenTelemetry Collector in AWS
How service discovery for services with prometheus port exposed will work with Collector
How service discovery will work with our msk cluster
How to setup the tracing service (jaeger vs zipkin vs grafana tempo vs X-Ray, side-car vs central service, storage backend to use)

Acceptance Criteria

RFC of approach to be presented to team before creating child tickets.
